Odil Yokubov (1926-2009)

Odil Yokubov was born in 1926 in Turkistan region of Kazahstan in the family of military doctor. He took part in the war against Japan, and he studied at the Central Asian State University. Odil Yokubov's first essay called "Tengdoshlar" was published in 1951, in which there was an influence of unauspuded theory later the writer has written the following stories "Mukaddas", "Tilla uzuk", "Bir telefon qissasi", "Larza", "Kanot juft bo'ladi", "Matluba", "Izlayman", "Billur kandillar".

The following works of O. Yokubov "Er boshiga ish tushsa", "Ulugbek hazinasi", "Diyonat", "Ko'hna dunyo", "Oq qushlar, oppoq qushlar", "Adolat manzili" became the reason of a rising genre of polyphonic novel in Uzbek literature. Odil Yokubov's dramas are: "Chin muhabbat", "Olma gullaganda", "Yurak yonmog'i kerak", "Aytsam tilim kuyadi, aytmasam dilim", "Fotihi Muzaffar yohud bir parivash asiri", "Bir koshona sirlari".
